Dell Inspiron N5110 fan problem

To all who owns the Inspiron N5110 and you are not a gamer.

If you were installing a new OS on the computer, and facing a non-stop fan issue, this might be due to lack of the GPU (Nvidia in my case i faced) driver, which results to clock the GPU to the maximum (by default ?) and then you’ll have your heat and non stop FAN issue.

I faced the issue with Inspiron R15 N5110 N series, installed windows 7 32 bit, the installed the Intel Graphics driver, but once windows starts loading the FAN won’t stop.

I’ve tried linux booted from USB, the same issue i think the linux also lacks nvidia driver

for 32:http://laptop-download.blogspot.com/2011/07/dell-inspiron-n5110-drivers-win7-32bit.html

for 64: support.dell.com and chose your laptop.

just install the driver for nvidia graphics card, you’ll notice the fan speed is reduced.

hope it helps.
